What is Aliyah Local?

Aliyah Local is a curated directory of English-speaking local services in Israel, built specifically for new olim. We list plumbers, mechanics, lawyers, dentists, and everyday essential services — organised by city and neighborhood to make life easier when you’re new and don’t speak Hebrew confidently yet.

Who is Aliyah Local for?

Aliyah Local is for: New olim Recent arrivals Anyone in Israel who prefers to work with English-speaking service providers. It is not a tourist or expat marketplace.

How are businesses listed on Aliyah Local?

Businesses are added individually by the Aliyah Local team. At this stage, there is no automatic self-listing. This is intentional, so we can keep quality high and avoid spam.

Are the businesses English-speaking?

Yes — all listed businesses are either: Fully English-speaking, or Known to communicate comfortably in English with clients Language clarity is a core requirement for inclusion.

How do I contact a business?

You contact businesses directly, using the phone number or contact details shown on their listing. Aliyah Local does not sit in the middle, take commissions, or handle bookings.

Do I need an account to use Aliyah Local?

No. Browsing listings and contacting businesses does not require an account.

Is Aliyah Local free to use?

Yes. Aliyah Local is free for users. Some businesses may pay to be listed, but this does not affect your ability to browse or contact them.

Can you recommend a specific business to me?

Aliyah Local provides listings and information, but does not personally recommend or guarantee services. We encourage users to: Contact providers directly. Ask questions. Decide what feels right for their situation

What if my city isn’t listed yet?

We are launching city by city to keep quality high. If your city isn’t listed yet, you can sign up to be notified when it launches.

Is Aliyah Local affiliated with the government or the Jewish Agency?

No. Aliyah Local is an independent directory and is not affiliated with the Jewish Agency, government offices, or aliyah organisations.

I run a business — how can I be listed?

At this stage, businesses are added by invitation or manual review only. If you provide services in English and want to be considered, you can join the business waiting list.

What Aliyah Local doesn’t do

We don’t take bookings or payments

Aliyah Local is a directory only. We don’t handle bookings, payments, or negotiations. You contact businesses directly and decide what works for you.

We don’t guarantee services or outcomes

While we aim to list reliable, English-speaking providers, AliyahLocal does not guarantee the quality, pricing, or outcome of any service. We encourage users to ask questions and make their own decisions as well a spost reviews of their experience

We don’t list every business

Aliyah Local is intentionally not exhaustive. We add businesses selectively to keep the directory useful, readable, and relevant for new olim.

We don’t allow automatic or spam listings

Businesses cannot automatically list themselves. This helps prevent spam, fake listings, and low-quality services.

We don’t replace official or government services

Aliyah Local is not a government service, legal authority, or aliyah organisation. For official matters, users should always consult the appropriate authorities.

We don’t collect unnecessary personal data

You don’t need an account to browse listings, and we don’t sell user data. Email sign-ups are only used for city launch notifications & Information on newly listed businesses that you may find useful.
